Hello,

Last Friday, I had a Sleeve Gastrectomy in Madeira. The procedure was perfomed by Dr Himpens.

I am really impressed; this is what happened:
On my arrival in Madeira I was greeted by a nurse (Thurs)
I was shown to a super **** hotel that was pre-booked for my wife and I to stay for a week (Thurs)
The following morning my wife and I were picked up by the same nurse and taken by taxi to a private clinic. At the clinic I was introduced to the operating staff that were to work on my procedure (Fri)
At lunchtime Dr Himpens arrived and I had a chance to chat to him before the procedure was to begin (Fri)
I woke up later that afternoon with some pain which the nursing staff soon sorted for me (Fri)
That night I slept well and my wife stayed in the same room (Fri)
The following day the pain had mostly gone and I stayed that day with my wife in the clinic (Sat)
Sunday I was discharged by Dr Himpens and given armfuls of diets and other instructions
The nurse visited me at my hotel twice on Sunday
Monday the nurse visited again along with the assisting surgeon
During Monday I was able go out and enjoy Funchal without incident
Today is Tuesday and the nurse has visited me again morning and evening. I have also been shopping in Funchal again to day with my wife.
I am really pleased with the outcome and I thank all staff at the clinic and everyone involved but mostly I thank everyone in this forum by helping me understand WLS. Thanks

If anyone needs informati
